Wait but what is Art in video games? People these days, not only teenagers, even adults who love to play games will definitely know what video games are. I couldn't agree more with what Mr Olivier de Rotalier mentioned during his interview, “Videogames are a very visually driven medium so it is important that the universes are beautifully imagined and engaging for gamers to immerse themselves in.”
Yes, whereby Art in video games also the exhibition organized by Ubisoft Singapore last November in Singapore. It was also the first time that the concept art of Ubisoft‘s AAA video games Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag and Ghost Recon Online now showcased in Malaysia. The art exhibit features 40 concept art works by the talented Ubisoft Singapore artists.

Later on, all the media proceed to next door for press conference, the meeting and Q&A session for the Ubisoft experts.
After meeting with the experts, there was a live drawing session by Ubisoft Artist (The One Academy alumni), JC Wong. The live drawing session was held at The One Academy theatre room; many students were invited to the talk to witness how the drawings were done. Very impressive! And a good experience for outsiders to see how the artistic process lead the creation of a video game.

Thank you The One Academy for having me. It was such a great experience for an art student, and also inspiring as we young Malaysians, we can produce such amazing artworks and contribute to the growing design industry. Very clear guide to those students through their top creative education so that they are able to dynamically produce the next rising pool of pioneers in the game design arena. Not to mention, an opportunity for the Malaysian public to get an insight into the great work performed by their studio’s artistic teams: from concept art to videos. The art exhibit is also a way to reflect the diversity and the quality of Ubisoft Singapore studio’s artistic production of the two famous video games; Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag: pirate fantasy and free-to-play Ghost Recon Online: near-future military.
